Workplace Reference Checks (WRC)


People are usually creatures of habit and develop work patterns that can carry on from one job to another. These patterns can help predict future patterns.

Every reference is done verbally with someone that the candidate has reported to.

Information generally verified during WRC’s:

  • Duties
  • Performance
  • Relationships
  • Positive points
  • Negative/development points
  • Potential
  • Gaps in employment record
  • Anything that the recruiter has picked up and is unsure about

Would the referee re-employ the candidate?
